It refers to the violent politics of Elon Musk, recently appointed by Donald Trump to head a ministry of “government efficiency” in charge of renovating the state under the Trump 2 mandate. A position with vague contours that has allowed him to exert unprecedented pressure on the federal administration: cutting administrative budgets overnight (including the closure of the US Development Agency and its 10,000 employees), launching a voluntary departure plan for 75,000 civil servants with emails inviting them to resign, and recovering sensitive data.
His policy could destabilise the United States, its technology policy and even its institutional balance, contributing to an unprecedented strengthening of executive power and challenging the historic system of checks and balances.
